Let me quickly add to Blair’s post by saying that tonight’s Pierced Arrows show at Maxwell’s is recommended. Wednesday’s show at Mercury Lounge was fantastic… I was definitely surprised that the band are in top form, both of their voices are on, the new drummer is great, overall a great show.
Also Toody promised the band would be back in NYC once a year at least from now on. AND If you’re wondering whether they do Dead Moon songs, they do and HOW. Encore consisted of “It’s OK” and “54-40 or Fight”. Killer!
I took some video mid-set, although we were SO close in to the band that it’s a bit distorted. Also it was shot rather stealthily from hip high, due to my recent experience at Bowery Ballroom (owned by same family/consortium as the Merc) where I was apprehended “illegally videotaping” (security’s words) a show by the Above (that video is also on youtube: above at bowery ballroom).
