DJs promise sets of songs themed to say goodbye to Bush and hello to Hussein Obama (expect things to be heavy on SOUL). 2 for 1 drinks all night plus the kitchen is now open (til 2!) which means there’s burgers, wings, fries, even a veg option or two. no cover.
Also tonight is a ToddP party in Brooklyn featuring the Pissed Jeans and Vivian Girls.
Tomorrow night Josh Lee of the Headless Hookers is DJing at a hopefully-to-be-regular gig at Lolita Bar at 266 Broome St in Manhattan– expect blues & other dark colored music. free.
Mr Fine Wine is at Botanica as always and Jonathan Toubin is at Motor City bar.
THURSDAY, Boogaloo Shampoo rolls on with more soul at Beauty Bar and we assume there are DJs at NYNT‘s other Thursday gig at Enid’s (no info). Also there’s a live show at Don Pedro featuring the Siberians (who played a killer set at Union Pool last Friday) and Thee Yetis, who haven’t played out in quite a while!
There are literally 10 events on the nyc show calendar for Friday alone to talk about, not to mention more goodness this Saturday so we’ll revisit those later on in the week. Go get hopeful wasted!
