It sure hasn’t seemed like June so far, but Sunday is the 21st, the longest day of the year, and the beginning of Summer! Perfect timing then that it’s a weekend and Nobunny among other great bands are in town.
TONIGHT (Friday):
Hunx & His Punx (featuring Justin Nobunny on guitar) open the Butt Magazine Bang! party at the OLD, I repeat OLD, Knitting Factory on Leonard St. They play around 9ish and then hustle across the bridge to:
Bruar Falls on Grand St in Williamsburg, where they’ll be playing with Baby Shakes, the Beets, and the German Measles. Nobunny will take the limelight for a headlining performance also. $8.
Organs are at Don Pedro tonight, part of something called the “Third Reich Party” (don’t ask us).
Sweden’s Stupidity continue their tour of N.E. at Asbury Lanes in Asbury Park, supported by
the Friggs, Brimstones, and Mondo Topless.
DJ gig wise, Josh Styles and ‘Fitz’ fill in for Jonathan Toubin at Home Sweet Home (FREE) and the rockabilly Rebel Night takes place at Otto’s as usual (also FREE).

SATURDAY:
Jonathan Toubin has one big whizbang party way out on Broadway in Brooklyn
featuring Awesome Color, a bunch of great DJs, Melissa-Anne hula hooping and assorted fun stuff. 979 Broadway (past Myrtle stop on the JMZ?). $10.
Also there’s a great garage bill at Don Pedro featuring Chicago’s MOTO, Midnight Creeps, a new band (from Detroit?) called the Pizazz, Ex-Humans and more.
And Stupidity are at Bar Nine in Hell’s Kitchen with Palmyra Delran and Muchacho.
SUNDAY:
The Shaydes & the Totallys take part in Make Music New York day / Solstice day outside or inside the Rock Star Bar (unclear at press time). Looks like BBQ all day too. Starts around 4. Fun!
Nobunny is playing at DeathByAudio (unconfirmed?)
Stupidity is at Otto’s Shrunken Head.
Dave the Spazz & Lil Killers Andy are at Union Pool DJing (FREE).
