Williamsburg hipsters: BEHOLD YOUR FUTURE!
CopyCat covers ZZ Top this week.

Monday

DJ Knifefight spins all “pre-Beatles” rock-n-roll at Art Land Bar. It’s a dingy little bar, but the music is superb. Also, free pool all night (though there is a line, of course). No cover.

Also on Monday, the Reverend Vince Anderson and the Love Choir continue their gospel-blues residency at Union Pool. It’s a free show which starts late (11pm) and ends late (2am!)

Tuesday

I think you know what’s coming: Hot Dog! at Bar Matchless. Featuring DJs spinning 50′s and 60′s R’n'B, Doowop, Gospel, Soul, Funk, Garage Rock, Punk, and more. No cover, 2-for-1 drinks all night, from 8 ’till late.

Wednesday

Time for Copycat once again, this week with a tribute to ZZ Top. Time to let your facial hair down and rock out with (the band) Cheap SunglasseZZ (winner of our “band name of the month” award), The Unpronounceable, and your host for the evening, DJ Xerox. Oh, and it’s free!

Also on the agenda, Motor City Bar hosts New York Night Train Wednesdays with punk/rock/hard/loud music all night. No cover. Then of course there’s Mr. Fine Wine at Botanica spinning his favorite Soul grooves. Also no cover.

Thursday

Okay, we got nuthin’ for Thursday. There will surely be someone DJing at Enid’s (edit: it’s Katherine Tabor and Alix Brown of Golden Triangle), and possibly at Beauty Bar Brooklyn, but we’re not sure who or what kind of music. (Edit: also, The Spits are playing a free show at Bruar Falls.)

Marcus

Nothing but free stuff this week? What, y’all don’t want to compete with ZZ Top? Don’t forget to send us your shows!
