Concert or hair-stylist convention?
Alana Amram and Daddy Long Legs
at Southpaw on Tuesday.
Time for a little public service announcement: CopyCat is looking for a band to play on April 14th at Otto’s Shrunken Head. It’s their “Tribute to Bubblegum” night. If your band can do a set of about 50% covers of bubblegum pop (the rest can be your own originals) they’d love to have you!
Sunday
A bit of a slow starter, this week. You can always head on over to Union Pool, but tonight you might actually want to. DJs Dave The Spazz and Andy Maltz will spin their eclectic mix of sounds of the 50s and 60s, soul, garage, oddities and rarities starting at 10. No cover.
Monday
Feel like giving Union Pool another try? Catch The Reverend Vince Anderson and his gospel/soul revue. Starts at 11, no cover.
Tuesday
Ah, here we go, Southpaw hosts blues-stompers Daddy Long Legs and the folksier (but still rockin’) Alana Amram and the Rough Gems. Somewhere on that bill is the Ne’er Do Wells, who appear to be a bluegrass band, maybe?
If that’s not your thing, then check out Jonny Chan and the New Dynasty Six. They’re hitting the stage at Arlene’s Grocery around 11.
This being Tuesday, you can always get a bite of Hot Dog! at Bar Matchless. It’s a free night of DJs spinning Rock-n-Roll, 50′s and 60′s R’n'B, Soul, Funk, Garage Rock, Punk, and more. Also, 2-for-1 drinks. No cover, starts at 10.
