round two by maxvision Here We Go Again

Yep it’s round infinity of the endless battle of garage, punk and soul DJs once again this weekend. AND another weekend with a fab friday and sad Saturday.  Note to promoters: BOOK SATURDAYS.  Can we get more obvious?

TONIGHT (FRIDAY):

Let’s start with something different.  Head over to Hell’s Kitchen tonight if you want real live action.  Cuz the 45 Adapters, probably the best streetpunk band in NYC in a generation, are playing at Bar Nine on the West Side along with the great Electric Mess.  Not sure if there’s a cover.

One other live possibility tonight would be Nick Gazin’s Midnite Till Death at Don Pedro featuring Pop 1280 and Nice Face

Beyond that, it’s DJs DJs DJs!

At Teddy’s, a favorite brunch spot on Berry Street in Williamsburg, the Thing With Two Heads (Bazooka Joe and Xtine) return for a night of blastin’ with pal Phast Phreddie the Boogaloo Omnibus. FREE

Over at the former Black Betty on Metropolitan Ave, now known as The Commodore, you’ll encounter DJ Ursula 1000 doing a glitter/glam/trash kinda night. FREE

And, over in Manhattan, Josh Styles fills in for Jonathan Toubin at Home Sweet Home on Christie St. $3

SATURDAY:

It’s a bit of a wasteland, but there is a pretty good’un at Bruar Falls in Williamsburg with the Girls at Dawn (back from a recent tour) as well as X-Ray Eyeballs (the Golden Triangle sideproject thingy) and Charlie and the Moonhearts, a good out of town garage band. $7

And Mr Vacation will be doing his Cockfight DJ battle thingy at the Commodore as well. FREE

If not this, then… go fish !
