Osaka’s Shonen Knife performing at The Asia Society. A co-production between the Society and New York-Tokyo, the show not only showcased Shonen’s new album, but also complimented Yoshitomo Nara’s current retrospective at the Asia Society galleries. Kicking out three-chord tunes about BBQs, capybaras, and all sorts of quirky things, Nara (a fan from way back) would definitely have approved. I mean, how could you hate a band that models itself after our own Ramones? More pix here.
