It’s almost HALLOWEEN!!!!

vintage halloween Its almost HALLOWEEN!!!!

Man, tonight is a band free kind of night.  Seriously.  There’s a ton of DJ nights but fuck all for live shows.  I’m sure everyone will be getting their band fix on Sunday, when every band in America pretends to be another band.  Unfortunately, this year I wont be able to celebrate Halloween.  I’m going to be in Israel on Sunday, so celebrate extra hard this year, for me!

FRIDAY!

Phast Phreddie the Boogaloo Omnibus and GirlSoul will be spinning at The Commodore for Discophonic Walk!  That’s the Boog’s latest and greatest invention of a DJ night.  A dance party of garage and soul in ye olde historic Williamsburg.  I haven’t been to Commodore yet.  It’s where Black Betty used to be.  Tell me how it is!  10:00 FREE!

Over at Home Sweet Home you’ve got the soul and pop night Over Under Sideways Down with DJs Toubin and Primo.  If you say “oldies night” at the door you get in for $3, instead of $5.

The Ding Dong Lounge has Linda Rizzo spinning garage, soul, funk, and punk.  It’s FREE!

Back in Brooklyn, you can check out Another Scorcher, the reggae, rocksteady & soul dance night, over at Huckleberry.  This is free, too!

SATURDAY!

Over at The Church they’re having a big ol’ party.  Heavenly Horros VI!  You’ve got The Back CCs, Your 33 Black Angels, Madam Robot & The Lust Brigade, The Runaway Suns, Food Stamps, and The Big Death Scene.  If you don’t know where The Church is, then you ain’t cool.

The Lyres and Born Loose are playing at the Ding Dong Lounge.  It’s $10 and starts at 9:00.

Union Hall is doing a party called Devil’s Night Extravaganza with Imaginary Icons covering Suicide and Brought Low are covering The Misfits.  This shit starts at 8:00 and has to be over by midnight so that there can be a Heathers themed dance party.  It’s $8.

Dave The Spazz is DJing Rubulad.  I love the hell out of Dave and would like to help promote this night more, but I have no clue where the fuck that party is and didn’t even know it was still around.  It’s in Gowanus somewhere and costs $20.

OK, everyone have fun on Devil’s Night and Halloween.
