What’s up, Jekyll! That ghastly pallor of yours could probably be attributed to your vices and/or your lack of sleep this past week, or it could be that it’s that magical time of the year we like to call HALLOWEEN! When it falls on a weekend (or this year, JUST outside of one) you’d best steel yourself with all the holy water garlic juice you’ve got to keep up with the onslaught of vice and roll! This midweek post you’re about to read is as stacked as your typical weekend could ever nightmare…Check out all these haunts your could be haunting this week:

Wednesday October 26th

Tonight is the 3rd annual Copycat tribute to Lux Interior and his seminal band The Cramps, with Triple Hex, The Screaming Rebel Angels and Hick’ry Hawkins performing live and paying homage to the spirit of the vampire creeps from the garage beyond the grave! Host DJ Xerox spins all the oddball and rare covers along with special guest Mike Mortician! Party starts at 9, there ain’t no cover, and the specialty drink of the night is The Psychotic Reaction…step lively.

The Highline Ballroom on West 16th Street hosts the surf rock luchadores Los Straightjackets, rumbling into town with a carnival of a show featuring The World Famous Potani Sisters. Get yer tickets to this once in a mad moon spectacle here, 9pm doors!

Wishgift is a progressive psych punk band from Chicago. They sound really weird and fucked up in a Zappa kind of way. This is a good thing. They play tonight at 9 at Don Pedro. Don’t know who else is on the bill, but have a mac and cheese ball and give these jokers a New York aloha. $5 cover….

A double shot of Gallic rock and roll tonight! Les Sans Culottes, flambéed with a new album and new lineup, perform tonight with the actually French garage rock Les Kitschenette’s (more about them later in this post!) at Zebulon in Williamsburg! Show starts at 9 and there is NO COVER, but DO remember to tip when they pass the hat around so that they may eat cake, not bread crusts (sorry, that was truly awful).

Thursday October 27th

HULLABALOO! It’s happening thing. And it happens TWICE this week on account of the dead rising from their grave/satan doing a jig or whatever confounded reason you may dream. Last Live Punk Rock Dive of the Lower East Side Local 269 is the place to be for this stackedbill: The main attraction is Les Kitschenette’s, the amazing, sensually wild garage rock band from Basse-Normandie, France! Supporting them are local psychos of the scene: the savage Saturday Morning cartoon punks The Jigglers, the psycho-sexual garage freaks The Electric Mess and the bloody dirge of Twin Guns ! First band is on at NINE SHARP, for a mere $5 cover….

Not too much farther away at Bowery Electric: a night of maximum punk and wild eyed glitter rock awaits: kicking off at 9pm prompt are the 70′s NYC scene’s bastard stepchildren Dino’s Boys, new on the scene but already causing trouble punksters Love Bullet, Philadelphia trouble makers The Tough Shits and Brooklyn’s lords of fuzz out glamour and magick, Sorceress. Very special guest Avi Spivak will be DJing punk and glam rock all damn night! 9 dollar cover, come for dancing…

Back in the wilds of Bushwick, it’s another medical music breakthrough: Perfect Prescription returns to Shea Stadium with yet another fine evening of the dreamy, the etherial, and the loud: Fan-Tan, Dead Leaf Echo, The Vandelles and The Morning After Girls aim to cure all that ails your ears, with hosts and DJ’s Paul Dillon and Voidsong spinning choice psych, shoegaze space and kraut rock into the sweet dawn, joined this month by Jay Space of A Place To Bury Strangers. 9pm doors, $8 cover

There’s a damn ghoulish happening going on at Union Hall in Park Slope tonight: Deadpan Collective presents All Hallows Eve! where literate creeps read scary ghost stories and ruin your sleep forever, while psych-punkers The Living Kills, Dead Sexy Sheila and Wailin’ Storms rattle every bone in your body! Come in costume as you may win a prize of some kind. Or get killed. Either or. Doors at 7:30 and a $7 dollar cover!

Mr. Toubin’s fantastically instructive party Land of 1000 Dances is back, with a monster mash horror bent! It’s the most wonderful time of the year (if you’re a creep like me!!!) and the man promises to teach you to “HITCH HIKE across the floor, pass the BUG, and kill that ROACH! And tonight, you will also “MONSTER MASH”, “FRANKENSTEIN WALK”, and do “THE LURCH”!” Well then! This all happens at 9pm at 92Y in Tribeca, with beautiful instructors Georgia Walker, Sarah King and Elona Jones and tripadelic visual by BAMiAM.TV (B.A. Miale!) ALL AGES!

Agent Jay and friends have got you steppers covered for roots reggae, soul and ska at Otto’s Shrunken Head as always for the weekly party Move Your Mule from 10pm till close. Nah cover, bredren!
