Bushwick Brooklyn’s premier gangster rock hideout Don Pedro hosts what is being promised to be another epic, all night punk rock bacchanal! It’s a birthday party! It’s a weekend smash! It’s a tequila drinking contest (well not really and also because it’s not and no one ever wins those, EVER)Â and it’s an excuse to rock out with your coccyx out – many bands are wilding out tonight, including local kings of trash Foster Care and Mutant Genes, some out of town gangs (Liebestod, Cassanovas in Heat and Power Blessings) and special not so damn secret appearance by Eric Davidson’s band The Livids. Free Raffle and DJ sets by Scott Ward…$7 cover and 8pm start time, which might be for real this time on account of all the bands they’ve got playing…

Finger Lickin’ Fridays goes down tonight at Grand Victory in Williamsburg BK, with our boy Drew Redmond joined by Dos Platos de Bama Lama from the notorious Wowsville parties of yore! They’re spinning greasy rock and roll from 11pm till close…no cover and free ridiculousness all night…
La La Linda turns the Upper West Side into all shades of technicolor fun as she drops psych, garage, soul and rock and roll on the heads of the needy at The Ding Dong Lounge from 10pm till 4am…psych projections on the wall aplenty and no cover…

The Electric Mess is back to messing up your ears and ruining your first dates, all in the name of supporting their brand spanking new album…they perform tonight at that uptown dive of iniquity we mention every Friday for La La Linda’s party, The Ding Dong Lounge…the lady herself is most appropriately the DJ of the evening, with The Mess joined by Sweden’s garage rock greats Stupidity and local rabble rousers Spanking Charlene to round out a night sure to please and or upset the Upper West Sides sense of morality…9pm doors, $5 cover!
Speaking of The Electric Mess, be sure to catch them on free-form radio station of the nation WFMU, as they’ll be doing an absolutely live set on Terre T’s show The Cherry Blossom Clinic at 3pm on Saturday afternoon!
Look out, Park Slope: trashy garage punk is coming to drink all your lattes and scare your toddlers: Crazy ass rock show tonight at The Rock Shop: Drug Front Records’ great barbarians The Mess Around headline and are preceded by stoner fuzz power trio Mighty High, along with The Back Burners and a really sludgy ass metal band from Albany New York, Planet Eater… 8pm doors, $8 dollars (the Facebook invite for this show says free entry for anyone who brings a stroller, HA HA HA HA!!!! Who would dare expose their babies to this? The same people who would put PBR in a baby bottle, that’s who).
If you’re in the East Village on a Saturday Night you are going to need to find a place to hang to get away from that stupid fucking Call Me Maybe song…one of the few places left where you can find solace from the suck is at Idle Hands, the whiskey-centric dive that hosts DJ C’Mon and The Saturday Night Takeover! She’s got what cures your blues, namely choice selections of garage rock, punk, and powerpop. Take it back, people!
That’s your weekend…PART ONE, that is! A lot of people have the next week off, and a LOT of shit is going down running up and through Independence Day…Not even Will Smith can save you from the alien onslaught!
